Gas Turbine Air Inlet Plenum

Project Location
San Diego Bay

Project Completion Date
2004

Contractor and Applicator
Hydrodynamics Associated ~ San Diego, CA

Application
Commercial Spray

Project Description:

Over the past 9 years Hydrodynamics Associated has used Rust Bullet Products on over 20 projects that are in direct contact with high salt air exposure, sun light and atmospheric contamination.

In some instances two – three coats of Rust Bullet Products were applied on different substrates including bare metal, steel pipe and concrete pipe without a topcoat application. Such was the case at the Sithe Energy Power Generation and the Gasturbine Air Inlet Plenum at two power plants that are located within 200 yards of San Diego Bay.

The re-coating projects were completed in 2004 and are inspected one to two times per year. Both coating installations are performing excellent, with no visible signs of surface degradation.

Rust Bullet has a quick cure, tenacious bond to most substrates as well as to other coatings and has a low perm rate.

Hydrodynamics is very pleased with Rust Bullet’s high performance coating systems.

Project Description:

McCain Foods, Cold Storage Facility

This Cold Storage Facility at Mccain Foods PTY Ltd is exposed to constant condensation from the combination of the cooling below the suspended ceiling and the heat generated from the roof sheets above. The original method of protection using standard epoxy coatings was not providing the protection the steel required in this harsh environment.

Rust Bullet Industrial Formula was the only option for Mccain Foods, the structures integrity was restored and the life span extended. Mccain Foods now use Rust Bullet products as a solution for all their corrosion problems. The project was finished within the project plan estimate as well as within the set budget.

Thank you Rust Bullet.

Project Description:

December 10, 2008

I am writing regarding our successful completion of the project we did for the Army at an aircraft training facility near Louisville, Alabama. This steel air traffic control structure had been essentially neglected for several years and our firm was selected to prepare the surface, then prime it, and re-paint. The existing paint showed signs of severe Rust-through in some areas, and needed to be stripped down to the metal; in other areas the paint had withstood the elements very well and maintained a surprising level of adhesion. In these areas, we only needed to clean the surface and scuff it up thoroughly prior to applying Rust Bullet. More »

Project Description:

Scroll Down to see entire sewer pump coated with Rust Bullet Standard Formula after 30 months of submersible service at the Depoe Bay WWTP.

Depoe Bay is a city in Lincoln County, Oregon, United States, located on U.S. Route 101 next to the Pacific Ocean. The bay of the same name is a six-acre (24,000 m²) harbor that the city promotes as the world’s smallest bay. Depoe Bay is fortunate to have a resident pod of grey whales which makes its home here 10 months out of the year drawing visitors from around the globe to whale watch. Maintaining the stability of the ecology is vital to the preservation of wildlife and the tourist industry. The Waste Water Treatment Plant plays an important role in the maintenance of this eco-system. Chosing Rust Bullet Standard Formula to protect and preserve the pumps was a decision that proved to be an excellent one.

Letter from Depoe Bay City Superintendent

Here is additional information and photographs of the pumps coated with Rust Bullet Standard Formula. We have a total of 16 submersible pumps that we work with. The pumps came from the factory painted before they ship them to us. After about 1 year of service rust starts to show up on the pumps. We then found Rust Bullet and started using it on our pumps. As of now (April 2010) we have pumps that have been in service in the sewer lift stations for over 30 months (2.5 years!) and they do not show any rust. Thank you for such a great product.

Terry Owings
Depoe Bay City Superintendent
