POR15: Gone are the days

Rust Bullet

Rust prevention has always been considered to be a process which involves painting the surface to be protected with layers and layers of Rust prevention paint. However recent developments have shown that for a full understanding of rust prevention requires an understanding of various iron surfaces and the use of the right kind of preventive product for this purpose. The development of more technologically advanced products which are very different than the traditional rust conversion or rust encapsulation products has made rust inhibitors like POR 15 obsolete.

POR15 has been used as a rust prevention product for a long time. However the product has certain inherent problems which have made it highly unpopular. First, it requires an extensive surface preparation, adding to the overall costs. Second, it requires various products to become effective for rust prevention purpose. Third, it does not penetrate the surface of the iron and simply forms a coat giving incomplete protection using the old technology; rust conversion with rust inhibiting chemicals added.  These factors have led to the popularity of Rust Bullet a new patented technology allowing the 1st coat to penetrate the rusted areas dehydrating the rust, causing it to become a compact solid again. The 2nd coat of Rust Bullet seals everything air tight.

Rust Bullet is an innovative product which has been awarded two patents from The US Government for its unique rust prevention formula. As compared to POR 15, Rust Bullet penetrates the surface of the car or equipment and attacks the rust straightaway. The aluminum reacts with the resin to form a new armor tuff like surface on top of the old surface. Rust bullet is a single component coating which means saving you time and money as well as offering superior rust prevention.

Rust Bullet is also more environmental friendly as it has lower VOC (Volatile organic compounds) emissions. The product is free from industrial pollutants like zinc; lead, chromates, heavy metal, etc which can damage not only the environment but also your personal health. The product is also UV resistant which eliminates the requirement for applying a top coat on the surface. The product can be applied either as a paint with a brush or roller or easily sprayed onto the surface.

Rust Bullet can create a similar surface as that created by powder coating. Powder coating is the latest buzzword in the field of rust prevention as it offers a thicker coat compared to normal coating. However it can prove to be expensive and time consuming, granted it has almost zero VOC and offers a dry appearance. With Rust Bullet you can enjoy a similar shine for your car or Equipment without taking it apart and shipping the parts to a powder coating furnace saving time and money. Repairing a breach in powder coating vs. Rust Bullet is very costly to say the least.
